Day 3 - Exploring Kalemegdan

 Today was amazing. We walked to a fortress first, where we were allowed to wander. I took lots of photos of the wonderful scenery as we were on a large hill, so we could see for miles. There were a couple of lakes, a few fields, but LOADS of trees. It was green as far as the eye could see. After an hour or so, (which passed really quickly) we gathered our things and walked to the zoo.😁

At the zoo, we were had a couple of hours to walk around after lunch. We saw a large variety of animals including monkeys, bears, chickens, ostriches, giraffes, lions, tigers, penguins, crocodiles, seals, and lots more. Me and my friends had a great time. Harriet also made her promise by the Lions which was fairly cool! 




After the zoo, we got a trolley bus back to the hostel and some people went to the supermarket to buy dinner and some snacks. Then we ate a yummy chilli con carne for dinner!!

Today was amazing! When we went to the fortress, we didn't spend our time like we thought we would, however , if we did, we wouldn't have started a game of catch that expanded to half of the guides, rangers and leaders. We even strived to make friends! Even though the friend I made was a dog, Maaza the dog impacted my trip and made me really enjoy my time! I can't wait to see what the rest of the trip brings us as much as I hope it will last long!

Day 1 - Travel Day and Settling in

Today was exhausting but brilliant. We all gathered at Christ church at 8:00am and got our amazing sky blue jumpers. We then waved goodbye to our parents and hopped on the coach. Our driver Adam drove us all the way to Heathrow airport.  After we arrived, we went through the long process of checking our bags in and going through security but we did make a few friends while waiting. We met Bonnie the police dog who was very calm and friendly and we also met a robot cleaner which Helen named purple. In amongst all this we also got our neckers if we didn't already have one and learnt how to twist and knot them. Soon after we did a sound off  and had a pep talk before everyone went off in there separate groups to buy food and look around the shops. Then we all gathered back together and boarded the plane. Day 2 - Let's go to the Beach

 Today was great! We started off the day with a hearty breakfast at a local cafe.  After, we had some free time to prepare for the day ahead. At roughly 10:30 we headed off to the beach! We had to take 2 busses which were very busy and then walked for 10 minutes to get to the beach.  However it wasn't just any beach, it was a lake beach. When we were at the lake most of us went into the water,which was very cold, and had lots of fun. Some of us stayed in the water for a couple of minutes, some of us wherein it for an hour!  After a great time splashing about, we ordered our lunch at a near by stall and ate them on the rocks. Then we headed to Lidl where most of us got a few treats.  We then headed back home at had a lovely dinner made by the leaders. Day 4 - The Sargan Eight, Drvengrad and Zlatibor

 Today we went on a fantastic journey through different parts of Serbia and through it's great mountains. We travelled by coach and train with our fabulous tour guide, Mikhal. Although our coach journeys were slightly tedious, it was all worth it for the amazing scenery and memories that we made. After our first coach ride, we had a lovely lunch at a restaurant by the station. It was very fancy with delicious food including a traditional Serbian soup and an Apple pastry for pudding.  We then went on a train ride around the mountains. Then, we went to the stunning wooden village of Drvengrad  which showcases buildings made from natural materials - stone and wood.  After exploring there and making friends with a kitten, we headed to the town of Zlabitor to find dinner by the lake.
