Day 4 - The Sargan Eight, Drvengrad and Zlatibor

Today we went on a fantastic journey through different parts of Serbia and through it's great mountains. We travelled by coach and train with our fabulous tour guide, Mikhal. Although our coach journeys were slightly tedious, it was all worth it for the amazing scenery and memories that we made. After our first coach ride, we had a lovely lunch at a restaurant by the station. It was very fancy with delicious food including a traditional Serbian soup and an Apple pastry for pudding.

We then went on a train ride around the mountains. Then, we went to the stunning wooden village of Drvengrad  which showcases buildings made from natural materials - stone and wood.  After exploring there and making friends with a kitten, we headed to the town of Zlabitor to find dinner by the lake. For dinner, we were all able to pick whatever we wanted from the different stands!!!

Today we went to Western Serbia. It was a really mountainous place and our tour guide, Mikhal, told us all about the history of the area. First, we went on an old steam train. I went on the bridge bit between two carriages and it was AMAZING!!!!!! It was SO COOL -  especially when we went through tunnels.

Then, we went to The Wooden Village which was originally a film set made by a very famous Serbian director where ALL the houses are made of wood. All the streets were named after famous Serbs.

Finally we went to a town surrounded by beautiful mountains. I'm now on the way back to the hostel. I had a great (but exhausting) day!!!!

Today we did a lot . Three activities today - it was a lot . However it was so fun. First we had lunch and we all tried the traditional food. Unfortunately, the vegetarian option had mushrooms so I wasn't too keen. Then straight away we went on a train . It felt like forever but in a great way as it was so beautiful. The views was outstanding . Eadie and Roz were models for my picture.

When I thought this trip couldn't get any better, we were woken up early to gather on a coach to go on a train journey!  However, the words 'train journey' had such little hype for what it was... Standing outside, clutching the side of a beautiful vintage train, named Nostalgia, in the angelic countryside was really the cherry on top of this trip! I can't even fathom the stunning views of Serbia I saw. I loved taking pictures, talking to the conductor, and laughing with my friends. Today was truly amazing and I  can't wait to see what tomorrow brings us, other than my bed at home.

Helen took me aside one night, and proposed the idea of going on a train journey with my Jack Petchy money. At first, I was a little bit sceptical of the idea due to the fact I've never really had any passion for trains. When we got on said train however it was amazing! The wind brushed through my hair and I felt ecstatic, what an experience! We were told by our guide that there were 22 tunnels and one reached an unreal five kilometres! It was very loud but I had a great time!
